Diet for gastritis of the stomach: what to eat, approximate menu and recipes

What is gastritis of the stomach

An important way to fight gastritis is a therapeutic diet. A gentle menu will help relieve the stomach and avoid irritation of the walls. The exact list of foods that can and cannot be eaten depends on the nature of the disease and the features of its course.

How do I eat with gastric gastritis?

If the acidity of the gastric juice is low, a diet against gastritis is relevant, which excludes mechanical irritation of the diseased mucous membrane and stimulates secretion. It is referred to as table number 2.

There are also desserts on the diet table for a sick stomach. The list of allowed sweets includes: jams, marshmallows, jellies, soufflés, puddings, unleavened cookies. If you tolerate it, you can indulge in condensed milk or a scoop of homemade ice cream.

What should be excluded from the diet in the case of gastritis?

  • excess fat - fried food, rich broth, lard, smoked meat;
  • coarse fiber - raw vegetables, legumes, bran, nuts;
  • hot spices - mustard, ketchup, horseradish, pepper, garlic and onions;
  • high salt content - sausages, canned food, homemade products, marinades;
  • Baked goods - pastries, puff pastry, freshly made bread.

Due to the difficult digestion, you cannot eat fatty meat and fish, some cereals (millet, corn, barley, pearl barley).

Soda, kvass, alcohol, strong tea and coffee are harmful from drinks to a sick stomach. Hard-boiled eggs are prohibited for any type of gastritis.

In the case of dairy products, it is not recommended to eat yogurt, kefir or whey if they have a high acid content. A small amount of sour cream and heavy cream is used to season dishes. Spicy and salty cheeses are excluded from the menu.

What to eat during an exacerbation of gastritis

In acute gastritis, fasting is often done on the first day, but after 12 to 24 hours one should not refuse to eat. In the first week, light liquid foods are mainly consumed: pureed vegetable soups, slimy porridge in water (oatmeal, rice).

For 3-4 days of diet with exacerbation of gastritis, you can choose the following menu:

  • jelly;
  • steamed omelette;
  • mashed potatoes;
  • Quark soufflé.

When things get lighter and severe stomach upsets go away, you can have steamed meatballs and schnitzel, white bread crackers, cooked pieces of lean meat and fish, and biscuits. After about 2 weeks, meals are organized according to the principle of diet No. 1 or No. 2.

Several diet recipes

Steamed fish chops.

For gastritis, lean fish are used in nutritional recipes. It is useful to eat hake, cod, and pollock at least 2-3 times a week. You can buy ready-made fillets. Otherwise, you will have to cut the fish carcass.

  • 200 g fish fillets;
  • 50 g white bread pulp;
  • 3 tablespoons of milk;
  • 1 egg white;
  • 15 g butter;
  • Salt to a minimum.

Stir the pulp soaked in milk into the fish fillet. Salt the mass, scroll twice in a meat grinder. Add protein to the ground beef and mix well. Form small patties and steam. Pour melted butter over the bowl before serving.

Steamed omelette.

Quail eggs are a great alternative to eggs in an omelette. They are considered to be very useful and also turn out to be more sensitive.

  • 10 quail eggs;
  • 3-4 tablespoons of milk;
  • 2 teaspoons of flour;
  • a pinch of salt;
  • vegetable oil (for greasing the mold).

Whisk several times and mix the eggs. All other ingredients except oil are added. Many gastritis recipes allow the use of finely chopped herbs so that dill can be thrown in for the smell. The mass is lightly beaten and poured into a greased form, boil on a steam bath.

Baked apples with cottage cheese.

Food options for gastritis

This recipe is also suitable for people with acute gastritis. In the event of illness, especially in the first few weeks, the list of permitted fruits is small. Usually these are baked bananas and apples. The dessert is easy to digest and contains pectin, which improves digestion.

  • 3-4 apples;
  • 100 g of low-fat cottage cheese;
  • 1 egg yolk;
  • 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar;
  • 10 g starch.

Wash the fruits well and cut off the tips in the form of "lids". Using a small spoon, carefully remove the seeds and some pulp in a circle. The apples must have walls of at least 1 cm.

Mix cottage cheese with powdered sugar, egg yolks and starch in a filling mixer. If available, add vanilla sugar. Firmly fill the apples with the sweet mass and place them in a side dish. In the oven, turned on in advance at 200 degrees, the dessert must be kept for 20-25 minutes. Pouring some water on the bottom of the baking sheet will make the baked apples more tender.
